Corned Beef Hash
A classic potato, corned beef and onion hash with a dash of Worcester sauce. (270g)
Description
Made to a traditional recipe, this British mashed potato and corned beef hash is flavoured with onions, seasoned with a splash of Worcester sauce, tomato puree, red wine vinegar and cracked black pepper and some British potato chunks combine to give a simple and comforting dish.
Our Serving Suggestion Shredded buttered cabbage, sprouts or broccoli would add an iron-rich tang, or add definition and clarity to the dish with some pickled red cabbage or beetroot. Top this dish with a fried egg; the soft yolk adds a layer of richness and the texture of the fried white is a cream counterpoint to the starchy potato.
Our Drinks Pairing Between the salty-fatty yumminess typical of corned beef, and the usual tangy flavour, I'd vote for a harmonious, fruity red like the Pierre Lacasse Merlot. On the white wine side, I'd suggest something along the lines of the Oliver & Greg's Pinot Grigio.
